Are you ready? (Now . . . be positive). I am a 'blogging beginner' but I thought this might be a great way for me to get a real sense of how you're going with your exam preparation. We can chat about your responses to various revision activities and you can share ideas that might be helpful to your classmates. I want you to be brave . . . and honest. I want you to trust your own ideas and be willing to take risks by also sharing questions.
So . . . .
At the moment we are still reflecting on Trial exams. We will look at each section, hear marker's comments and explore ways to compose more effective responses. As a starting point, I'm going to ask you a few questions:
What did you learn about your own strenghts and weaknesses from the experience of doing the Trials?
What strategies are you using at the moment to prepare for the English exams?
Which module/section presents your greatest challenge and why?
Speak up now - don't be shy!

well done KV! Good on YOU!
So which module did you not prepare and why?
Do you have ideas about how you'd like to approach revision?
'Krtisten IS awesome for comment numero uno'
Hellooo.
Marina here..
Well, the exam was okay but the results not so much haha. Umm i think the biggest problem was not content but practising how to incorporate the almighty THEMES and TECHNIQUES (especially for Frontline) into my responses. I found that (as expected) i did heaps better in the sections which were assessed before but as you said miss, there's no reason that pattern is going to continue.
Like Kristen aka 'numero uno' said, practice essays are the go. The more we familiarise ourselves with the questions that can be asked and the more practice we get intergrating the 2 T's, all will be well.
YAYY 4 weeks to gooo !! you know you're gonna miss us, miss !! haha we love youuu.
hi miss!!
im excited at least im the third person to comment you! you have to be proud of that!!!
well im gonna be boring yet honest and say just like kris and mina that im sweet with content i just need to practice putting what is inside my head onto paper in a way that makes sense and is gonna get me some great marks!! haha....
oh and along with the dreaded themes and techniques we need to get special quotes that can be used for everything and anything!!
anyhoo miss you are the best and you make english AWESOME!!! WE ALL LOVE YOU!!
its good to hear that you're thinking about what you need to do and remember . . . yes . . it IS do-able!
Key quotes ARE important & these should be part of your study routine. If you know your texts really well you can usually manage to recall suitable references.
Keep thinking positive . . . and yes . . I AM proud of you.
QUESTION - what techniques did you notice as you watched "Smaller Fish To Fry" ?
Sup Daz,
Ok i officially vote we practice AOS essay, not a particular strong point of mine. Also you know how its tech-eg.-purpose i believe that the phrasing of my purpose needs improvement because it sounds like i dont know what i am talking about. Maybe some practice at successfully linking the themes + techs to the question.
Thanks,
P.S. your walkathon costume better be awesome-o!
